October 2009 Publications
These pages were published in ScrapStreet Magazine October 2009, as part of my In The Pits article:
Smile
I used Photoshop’s Artistic Watercolor filter to create the effect on the large photo. For the rest I just played with digital brushes, shadows, and layer styles.
Brushes: Fairy Wings, Aurora Borealis, Glitter II by Stephanie Shimerdla (Obsidian Dawn), Brads: Janneke Smit. Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3, Fonts: Papyrus, Birch Std, Informal Roman.
Daddy
I scanned my daughter’s artwork, reduced the size and added the title. Then I printed it out on matte photo paper. The flower and dotted strips are cut out from patterned paper. I glued the flower on some cardstock to make it a little sturdier.
Papers: Upsy Daisy Designs, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Brad: Making Memories, Ink: Rubber Stampede. Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3, Font: Arno Pro.
Home Made Guitar
I used a digital brush to create the filmstrip. I added the photos and divider strips and printed the whole filmstrip out on 14” photo paper.
Papers: My Mind’s Eye, Scenic Route, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Chipboard: Deluxe Designs, American Crafts, Ribbon: Offray, Ink: Rubber Stampede, Pen: ZIG. Digital Supplies: Digea Film Brushes by Jelena Jovovic. Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3, Font: Verdana.
BEN10
For the design of this layout I was inspired by the images from the TV series (rays, bubbles radiating from the “omnitrix” watch) as well as the T-shirt BEN10/my son is wearing. The large black and white pieces in the background are cardstock, but I created and printed out everything else. I designed the patterned paper and the 3 different colors paper for the “bubbles”. I printed green journaling on a black background. And for the title I created a gradient paper and I used the official BEN10 logo as the shape to cut it out. I used circle punches in different sizes to create the bubbles. I also used punches around the borders of the page and inside the number ten before I backed these with black cardstock.
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Photo Paper: Epson, Staples, Punches: EK Success, Marvy Uchida, Fiskars. Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3, Font: QuickType II Condensed.

A little late ...
... but these were my publications last month (August 2009) in ScrapStreet Magazine ...
Baby Girl
I love the look of lace paper and I decided to make some digital lace paper myself. I tried to make the paper stand out by keeping the design very simple and layering it on top of two different colored backgrounds.
Paper and Ribbon: Lady Bugga by Jennifer Barrette and Lauren Grier (Sweet Shoppe Designs), Lace Paper: Janneke Smit, Ric-rac: West Coast Girls by Libby Weifenbach and Krystal Hartley (Sweet Shoppe Designs), Badge: Party Perfect by Dora’s Designs (ScrapStreet), Staple: Bubble-Licious by Christy Lyle & Zoe Pearn (Sweet Shoppe Designs), Fonts: Occidental, Times New Roman, Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Happy Summer
I cut away a small strip on the right side of the front of the card. I adhered some patterned paper on the inside of the card. So when the card is closed it shows a small strip of the paper on the inside of the card (just one line of dots.)
Paper: Cherry Arte, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Felt Flower, Word: Creative Café, Ribbon: American Traditional Designs, Stamps: PSX, Safety Pin: Making Memories, Ink: Rubber Stampede, Card base: Halcraft, Other: white staples.

Mmmm ... Strawberries ...
This page was published on the Cover of ScrapStreet Magazine in July 2009!
A premade transparency makes a quick and beautiful embellishment. I simply added some bling to the flower centers, and a strawberry button (after cutting off the shank). Some vertical lines made with colored pencils draw the viewer’s eyes into the main photo. I printed the title and journaling directly onto the cardstock.
Supplies: Paper: My Mind’s Eye, Cardstock: Canson, Transparency: Fancy Pants, Bling: Heidi Swapp, Button: Dress It Up, Color Pencils: Around the Block, Fonts: Arno Pro, Arial.

Blueberry
I made this page with the ScrapStreet Magazine free digital kit for June. The kit is called Garden Grow and it is created by Dora. I thought this kit was perfect for a layout about the blueberry plant our daughter got from her daddy.
Other credits: Stitching: Bunny Hop by Libby Weifenbach, Staple: Bubble-Licious by Zoe Pearn Designs.

hat
Sharing a (sort of) Easter layout today I made in September last year ...
Papers: Basic Grey, Chipboard: Maya Road, Flower Charm: Making Memories, Chalk: EK Success, Pen: ZIG Millennium
I cut the large flower out of the patterned paper. I chalked the chipboard letters with several colors of chalk to match the color in the papers. And a small charm finishes the page.
Happy Easter!

Butterfly
I finished a layout yesterday which I submitted to the Street Maps column for ScrapStreet Magazine. It is based on a sketch by Michelle McClung.
I used some of the (retired) Paint Your World paper line from Dream Street Papers, designed by my friend Julie Geiger.
ETA: I replaced the sneak peak with the complete layout. This page was published in the February 2009 issue of ScrapStreet Magazine.
