Happy NSD! Welsome to ScrapStreet's Blog Hop!

Happy National Scrapbook Day, and welcome to ScrapStreet's Blog Hop!

Please make sure to check out the ScrapStreet Blog for everything you need to know about this Blog Hop!
Also, check out the National Scrapbooking Day Forum where extra challenges will be posted throughout the day for possible prizes as well!

I have two RAKS for you if feel like playing along on my blog!

For a chance to win the first prize, just leave me a comment before Monday morning (May 3rd) 10.00 AM PST. I will pick a random winner shortly after!

For a chance to win the second prize, you will have to create a card based on the following sketch. Post your creation either on your blog or in the ScrapStreet Gallery, and reply to this blog post with a link to your creation before Thursday morning (May 6th) 10.00 AM PST. Again, I will pick a random winner from the entries.

This is the sketch:

And this is my take on it:

Supplies: Paper, Die Cut: SEI, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Canson, Chipboard: Bazzill Basics Paper, Ribbon: American Traditional Designs, Brad: Making Memories, Ink: Rubber Stampede, Marker: Color Workshop (P&M Products), Other: thread. Tools: Stamp: My Sentiments Exactly, Other: sewing machine.

I made this card for my son's birthday. He will turn nine in a few days! I had found the Chinese character for the number nine online at About.com, and I thought that would be a good starting point for his birthday card.
I downloaded the image and printed it out in reverse. Then I adhered it to the back of a black cardstock scrap and cut it out. This gives a little more dimension than just printing the character directly onto the white cardstock.

I cannot wait to see what you create with the sketch, and read your comments!
I hope you enjoy our blog hop, and thank you so much for playing with us!

Next stop is the blog of the fabulous Janis Medina-Maghinay!

Hooray! Street hop!

Think I'll use Melissa's color combo on your sketch, but I'm thinking of taking it full-size! Hoping for some scrap time tomorrow...
